I was fortunate enough to design the 2016 Axis Award tickets. The theme was "Interesting Wins" and was asked to make the tickets fold outs, similar to the ones in the back of MAD Magazines. Tickets were to be received folded shut, with the boring illustration seen first, then open up to something interesting. I chose a washing machine, Dishwashing liquid and a coffee cup as my boring objects and started from there.
Having been across the look and feel for the website of the Axis Awards, I already knew I wanted to make the tickets a CMYK colour palette with some glitchy noise/texture over them.
Time was of the essence for the tickets to get printed in time so I had to quickly sketch out what I wanted them to look like on paper before doing the vector based art in Adobe Draw.
Afte completing the vector work and adding colour, I put the designs into Photoshop and added the texture over the top. The designs made it to the printer on time and the tickets were successfully delivered.
