Art Direction, Design & Illustration
Shopping is one of New Zealand’s most awarded movies, but no one had heard of it. For the movies premiere, we created an online shopping channel with the stars from the film auctioning items from the movie. I came up with the illustration style, hand drew all digital and print elements and designed the live auction site.

Coming up with the logo and developing the hand drawn look was the first thing to do. The logo and campaign elements consist of felt drawings similar to what you would expect a young kid to draw in their school book. We wanted it to look a bit rough but still have some craft to it.
We even made the flash as elements that we were heroing on digital and print assets look hand drawn and rough, keeping them inline with the movie and campaign.

The shoot featured the main characters from the movie alongside some of the stuff they would be auctioning off. All elements remained hand drawn, kind of like a glammed up garage sale. I then went through and started to create assets for the website.
leading up to the auction we set up a landing page where people could sign up for a text reminder for the big night and get a glimpse as the flash as stuff they could buy.
The live auction site went down a treat, it didn't even crash once and it had heaps of visitors. We even made $936.00 for Starship foundation. Pretty choice.
I am available for fulltime, contract and freelance work.
